Garrido's

August 28, 2009

For our August dinner, we ventured down to the ultra chic 2nd Street District to Garrido's in the 360 Condo Building. All 16 of us were able to enjoy the evening weather at a long table on the fantastic patio. The dimly lit setting next to the creek was perfect, as we sampled Mexican flavors from the menu. Service was a bit slow, but all of our checks were seperated at the end of the meal. A huge plus for big groups. The swanky inside bar seemed like the ultimate place for happy hour, or a much needed cocktail before dining. Can't wait to head back to this area, and see what else it has to offer!

Top Picks: Lamb Pops, Shrimo Tacos, Flan with mango and habenero honey

Screaming Goat

April 17, 2009

We made our way to the tiny house on 1oth, and got an unexpected surprise. The food was delicious, waitstaff amazing, and the price perfection. We sipped our $2 Coronas without guilt and indulged in tacos, burritos and more. Definitely recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner. No screaming in this group, only praise!

Top Picks: Chicken Flautas with Green sauce, Queso

Arriving at Manuel's downtown location, the long table allowed conversations and savory selections to blend. Diners soaked up the sizzling Mexican menu at the Austin classic.
